My name is Max. I’m 18 years old and I’m currently living in Castleknock - a nice, quiet area in the north-east of Dublin.
The first six weeks of our semester abroad in Ireland have already passed – it is remarkable how quick time seems to fly. Having settled into daily life here, I feel this is the perfect moment to share some of my impressions of Dublin.
Dublin offers countless opportunities to spend your free time. A particular favourite of mine is the National Museum of Ireland. Especially on a rainy afternoon, it provides the perfect refuge: spacious, centrally located, and rich in exhibitions that cater to a wide range of interests. A good thing, admission is free, which makes it accessible to everyone.
Moreover, even a simple walk through the city centre becomes an experience. Striking landmarks such as The Spire, a slender 120-metre needle that doubles as a navigational aid, or the innovative Dublin Portal, which connects the city virtually with other places around the globe, are part of everyday encounters in Dublin.
