Welcome to our Dublin Blog! We are Mirja (19) and Aurelia (17), currently living in Hollystown to gain international work experience, improve our English and discover Irish culture and everyday life. On our blog, we share our experiences and tips to help others make the most of their free time in and around Dublin.
Dublin offers a wide variety of activities for every taste and budget. If you enjoy going out, you can explore the lively nightlife in Temple Bar, visit traditional Irish pubs or dance the night away in clubs like DICEYS.
Since the Irish weather can be unpredictable, there are plenty of indoor activities to enjoy on rainy days. You can visit museums, explore the famous Book of Kells at Trinity College, go shopping or relax in a traditional pub with live music. Many museums and outdoor attractions, such as the National Botanic Gardens and Dublin’s beautiful parks, are free to visit, making them perfect for anyone travelling on a budget.
For spontaneous adventures, we recommend visiting coastal destinations like Malahide and Howth, where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, scenic walks and fresh sea air. Weekends are also a great opportunity to discover more of Ireland. Organised bus tours, for example, allow you to explore spectacular places such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway.
Dublin also offers exciting seasonal events throughout the year, including music festivals, Culture Night, Halloween celebrations and Christmas activities. If you prefer spending time with friends, you can try bowling, mini golf, escape rooms, picnics or quiz nights. Alternatively, exploring museums, galleries, libraries or the city by bike are great ways to enjoy Dublin on your own.
Whether you are looking for adventure, culture, nightlife or relaxing activities, Dublin has something for everyone. We hope our tips inspire you to explore new places, meet new people and create unforgettable memories during your stay in Ireland!
